Let Us Build Cully Park

“Es una oportunidad para esencialmente restaurar una montaña de basura y convertirla en un recurso para la comunidad”,

Let Us Build Cully Park
NE 72nd Avenue Community Garden

This .68 acre facility has 16 large garden plots (each can be divided into a subplot as small as 5'x10'), a 1325sf group plot, 7 accessible raised beds, a rain garden and 2 ecoroofs. The Community Garden, opened October 2012, set the blueprint for Cully Park's design and construction:

Scott School students designed the Community Garden in 6 design sessions, working with a landscape architect (Terrafluxus) and volunteer design session leaders to consider questions such as where to place amenities, accessibility for elderly and disabled, and connecting to the larger park.

Verde Builds and Colas Construction, a certified minority-owned contractor, served as General Contractors. 50%+ of labor and supplies were provided by target businesses. 50%+ construction wages were paid to low-income people or people of color. Oregon Tradeswomen's Building Girls program provided 1640 training/work hours. 2 volunteer workparties were attended by 30+ people.
